Along Interstate 65 in Indiana, there is stretch of wind turbines that span several miles of farm land. I took these photos on my way home from a recent trip to Chicago.
There is a special place at the edge of my yard where I like to sit and watch the sun set. I've been taking a watercolor class and am thinking about trying to paint one of these beautiful skies; however, nothing can compare to seeing these dazzling colors in person.
When we think about our senses, many of us tend to separate one from the other, but I find it rather fascinating how, in reality, one sense can heighten or trigger a response in another. For some reason, when I saw last night's sky, I was reminded of one of my favorite pianist and one of the arrangements from his album called December. The piece is called Variations on the Canon by Pachelbel.
On this particular day, there was a slight breeze blowing, and I was captured by the movement of the corn stalks and the light behind them. It was around 4:30 in the afternoon at a farm up the road from where I live.
The glow of the moon last night was striking. I took this picture at around 8:10 from my back porch. It kind of reminds me of the Cheshire Cat's smile.
Last night's sunset left me inspired to do some research about the colors of the night sky. If you want to learn more about how the weather affects a sunset's colors, you can read about it at: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/publications/corfidi/sunset/. These photographs were taken at 5:58 in Bowling Green shortly after a severe thunderstorm.
